Pokemon Go Finally Launches In South Korea But Still No Word On China-September 2024
Sep 20, 2024 10:49 AM

Pokemon Go continues its global rollout, launching this week in South Korea. Developer Niantic announced this on Twitter recently, encouraging players there to "get up and Go!"

Accordingly, Pokemon Go has also received an update that adds Korean language support. The free-to-play game is now at version 0.53.2 for Android and 1.23.2 for iOS.

The game's release in South Korea was reportedly held back due to the limitations that the country puts on Google Maps, which is a core component of how it works. That's the same reason why Pokemon Go is not available in the massive market of China right now.

In other Pokemon Go news, Niantic rolled out a new Pokemon Go update recently that made changes to how the game calculates GPS drift. Additionally, people datamined this update and found references to new Pokemon that could come to the game in a future update.
