X-Men Fight Back With Quake TC
X-Men Fight Back With Quake TC-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 6:25 AM

Quake finally gets some of the superhero treatment through a new total conversion (or TC) as Marvel Interactive and WizardWorks (a division of GT Interactive) announce the availability of X-MEN: The Ravages of Apocalypse.

Rather then build an entirely new game, total conversion titles allow gamers to get a new game based on the Quake engine (you must own a copy of Quake to actually play them). And the cost is much less then the conventional PC title.

In X-Men: The Ravages of Apocalypse, the X-Men are up against an enemy known as Apocalypse who is attempting to take over the planet. Players must battle hordes of X-Men clones and get to the ultimate weapon to thwart the enemy threat.

The game itself has two new episodes for both single-player or multiplayer modes. Single-player mode follows closely to the storyline with several puzzles and riddles that need to be completed to finish the level.

Multiplayer mode gives you the option of playing as one of the X-Men in the traditional environment of a Quake Deathmatch.

Included with the game is an exclusive copy of the Marvel CyberComic written by famed writer Larry Hama thatgives gamers more insight into the storyline of the game. Also included is a print comic, The Rise of ApocalypseNo. 1, which tells the origins of the enemy. Up on the Marvel web site, gamers can enter to win copiesof Ravages with a limited edition T-shirt.

The TC will be available in December for US$24.99 and basically the requirements follow the basic Quake requirements.
