Ubi Soft has entered into a three-year agreement with Natsume Incorporated to publish the companies' current and next-generation games in European territories such as Germany, France, and the UK and other areas such as New Zealand and Australia. The first Natsume-developed games that will be released under the agreement are Reel Fishing II and Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, which is a hybrid RPG-life simulation for the Game Boy Color.
"We are very excited about working together with such a leading and reputable company like Ubi Soft for the distribution of our titles in Europe," said Hiro Maekawa, president and CEO of Natsume Incorporated. "This is the beginning of nationwide distribution of our titles in Europe with the help of Ubi Soft's powerful sales team. We look forward to expanding our relationship to include titles under development for next-generation consoles, such as the Sony PS2, the Microsoft Xbox, the Nintendo GameCube, and the Game Boy Advance."
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, Harvest Moon 2, and four other Game Boy Color games from Natsume will be released by Ubi Soft in Q1 2001.
