Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty – How To Level Up Fast
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty – How To Level Up Fast-March 2024
Mar 19, 2025 9:28 AM

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty tests your skills with tough challenges, powerful enemies, and bosses that can quickly kill you if you come to the fight unprepared. Therefore, leveling up becomes a key aspect of the game, allowing you to upgrade your skills and tailor them to your playing style.

How leveling works in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

You don’t get XP and level up automatically in Team Ninja's latest title. Instead, you must collect Genuine Qi by defeating enemies and spend these points in the corresponding menu by resting at any Battle Flag. With the Level Up option, you can enhance your attributes tied to each of the five Virtues (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water) and check how many points you need to reach the next level.

You can see which skills will be affected by selecting a specific Virtue and investing your Genuine Qi points. Before spending them, you’ll need to confirm the selection, so feel free to check how your stats will change at any time.

This will also impact the Wizardry Spells you can cast, as the majority requires a certain Virtue level to be used. Later in the game, you will also be able to respec and reassign your points, powering up specific stats instead of others based on your current build.

How to level up fast

Leveling up in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is pretty straightforward: you kill enemies and get Genuine Qi in return. However, Team Ninja’s latest action RPG is not easy to deal with. You will probably die countless times, and this will cause you to lose half of your Genuine Qi points. You can reclaim them by killing the same enemy, but they will be lost forever if you fail before taking revenge.

This changes when facing a boss. If you manage to kill it, you will get your Genuine Qi points back, no matter how many times you have died against this powerful opponent. You must come prepared for the final battle of each stage, so try leveling up before starting the fight. You will always find a Battle Flag near the boss’ location. Below are some tips to help you level up faster in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

Rest at Battle Flags often

Every time you rest at a Battle Flag, the enemies will respawn, even if you have already beaten them. You can defeat them again to gain extra Genuine Qi and repeat it as many times as you need. Try to learn their habits and patterns so that you can kill them with more ease. If you hit them from behind or above without being noticed, you can perform a powerful Fatal Strike that will deal massive damage to enemies, even defeating some of them instantly. This will save time and allow you to complete your farming tour more quickly.

Often check the amount of Genuine Qi points you have

In the lower section of the screen, on the left, you can see how much Genuine Qi you currently have. Keep an eye on it, and as soon as it turns bright yellow, you will be able to level up by resting at a Battle Flag. This will help you effectively manage your points, lowering the chances of being defeated by an enemy and losing half of them.

Look for a farming zone

As you progress in the game, you will find more powerful enemies to challenge. However, they will reward you with a more significant amount of Genuine Qi points upon defeating them, allowing you to level up faster in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Some areas near Battle Flags, in particular, are perfect for farming many points quickly. Look for bigger enemies, as they give you a more significant number of Genuine Qi. You can easily spot farming zones by looking at the amount of Qi you get and how far they are from the Battle Flag.

Recruit up to two warriors to play with

The game lets you recruit up to two allies from the Reinforcements menu, available by resting at any Battle Flag. They will help you defeat enemies quicker and support you in dangerous situations. You will consume one Tiger Seal for every warrior you summon; if they die, you’ll have to recruit them again. During many missions, you will have one or more allies by your side since the beginning of the quest. In this case, even if they perish, they will return at no additional cost when you rest at a Battle Flag. Alternatively, you can join forces with friends or other players from the Online Lobby menu.

Complete Sub Battlefield quests

Along with the main story missions, you also get the chance to fight on Sub Battlefields. Many of them are available in the Travel menu, and they will help you level up fast in this game. Most are set in a small area and take little time to complete (if you can defeat your enemies). Moreover, they represent an excellent opportunity to challenge yourself and earn extra Genuine Qi points before you head to the next Main Battlefield.

Challenge the same Battlefield again

If you get stuck against a particular boss, you may want to power up yourself before starting the fight again. In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, you can challenge Main and Sub Battlefields as often as you want, so you can return to a specific mission and run through it again, even if you have already completed it. This will grant you a significant amount of Genuine Qi points you can spend to level up in the Battle Flag menu.
