The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project, one of the best texture packs ever released for the game, was so good that CD Projekt Red implemented its enhanced textures in the game's NextGen edition launched last year. Things, however, can always be improved, so it was not surprising to learn that modder Halk Hogan PL is working on a new version of the texture pack to bring even more visual enhancements.
A new preview video, which can be watched below, highlights how the final version of the mod will look like on the original and next-generation versions of the game, comparing the old textures with the new, enhanced ones that will be included in the upcoming mod. Sadly, it seems like The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition will release later than intended, as Halk Hogan PL confirmed the mod will only launch in the second half of this year. Thankfully, we won't have to wait this long to see more of the mod, as more video previews will be coming soon.
The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition is only one of the mods that have been developed with the game's latest version in mind, as plenty of others have been released since the new version launched late last year. Among these are mods that improve ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion performance, fix memory leak issues, enhance lighting, and more. CD Projekt Red also continued working on their game after the launch of the Next Gen edition, releasing a couple of patches that fixed a variety of issues for a better experience on both PC and consoles.
The Witcher 3 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. You can learn more about the game's latest version by reading Alessio's piece.
