Sony selects two studio heads
Sony selects two studio heads-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 8:32 AM

With the abrupt departure of Phil Harrison in February, Sony Computer Entertainment has undergone a measure of mix-up in its upper echelon. To replace Harrison, Sony promoted Shuhei Yoshida to the position of president of the publisher's worldwide studios in May.

With Yoshida's prior role of vice president of worldwide studios America vacated, Sony said today that it has appointed Scott Rohde to the position, as reported by industry site Gamasutra. Rohde comes by way of Sony San Diego Studios, where he served as senior director on a variety of sports and PlayStation Network titles. In his new role, Rohde will manage Sony's internal operations as well as oversee external projects in development under the Sony label.

With Rohde taking the reins of Sony's North America operations, Sony also said it would be promoting Michael Denny to vice president of worldwide studios Europe. Denny, who will manage Europe in the same capacity as Rohde in North America, previously held the position of director of external development at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. In that post, Denny managed projects including Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet and Evolution Studios' MotorStorm.
