Electronic Arts has today announced that it will release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube this fall. The game, which is currently in development at UK-based Warthog Games and EA's own UK studio, will see players assuming the titular role of Harry Potter as he arrives for his first year at Hogwarts. Further information is scarce at present, although today's press release does suggest that the game will essentially be an improved version of the one released for PC and PlayStation in 2001. A GBA version version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was also released at that time.
We'll bring you more information on the newly announced versions of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone as soon as it becomes available.
*Rumors that Warthog Games will be changing its name to Hogwarts Games appear to be unfounded.
