Icewind Dale is threatening to ship in a few months, perhaps even as soon as early summer. The game is nearly complete. The build GameSpot has is stable and contains a third of the game. Here are a bunch of screenshots that came with the beta build sent by Black Isle.
For those who don't know, Icewind Dale is a role-playing game based in the same region as the R.A. Salvatore books of the same name. This RPG starts you out at first level and lets you adventure up to a late teens level maximum. There are plenty of monsters to fight, environments to explore, and treasures to be had. Unlike in Baldur's Gate, you build your full party before you enter the game instead of creating one character and then having to find the rest of your party.
