GameWorks Tempe is set to open at the Arizona Mills shopping mall on Thursday, Nov. 20, joining its arcade brethren in Seattle, Las Vegas, Ontario, and Grapevine, Texas, all of which opened in 1997.
To promote the opening, Sega GameWorks, GameWorks' parent company, is holding a GameWorks Tempe Premiere Sweepstakes to spotlight the location's launch.
The GameWorks concept, that of a multimedia entertainment restaurant and bar featuring different types of arcade and video games in various "zones," was developed by a design team guided by Steven Spielberg.
Visitors to the GameWorks home page can fill out a sweepstakes form to be eligible for a trip to Tempe to be part of the club's grand opening festivities. The contest begins this Friday.
