The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences held its annual awards ceremony during the inaugural DICE summit in Las Vegas this past week. Awards were presented in 29 different categories, spanning from outstanding achievement in musical direction to innovation in console gaming. The most prestigious awards of the night for top console game and top PC game went to Bungie's Halo--which also won game of the year overall--and Lionhead's Black & White, respectively.
"The Interactive Achievement Awards and the DICE Summit help promote artistic aspects of our industry through the recognition of creative accomplishment and exploration of new creative possibilities," said Paul Provenzano, president of the Academy.
