Elden Ring is getting expanded in the future with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, but PC players don't have to wait until the official expansion drops to experience new content in the open-world role-playing game developed by From Software.
The Unofficial Expansion, which was developed by GiocatoreSingolo and can be downloaded for free from Nexus Mods, introduces plenty of additional content to the game, such as additional weapons and armors, balancing tweaks, two altered maps - the Divine Tower of Limgraven and the Ashen Capital, two new maps - Bononia, City of The Porch and Tarneria, Hegemon Town - additional lore, new merchants, classes and a lot more.
Since its release, Elden Ring hasn't received any major additional content, and what was released so far feels a little disappointing, as the Colosseums introduced late last year are nothing more than a simple diversion that ultimately doesn't amount to much. As From Software has always delivered so far when it comes to DLC expansions, the Shadow of the Erdtree is sure to be as solid as the base game.
Not like Elden Ring really needs additional content to be an excellent game and one of the best open-world games released in the past few years, as the game is full of meaningful content that requires tens of hours to be experienced fully, as I highlighted in my review.
Elden Ring is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will launch worldwide on a yet-to-be-confirmed release date.
