Devolver Digital may be "bummed" that E3 2020 is canceled due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), but that isn't stopping the independent publisher from doing something this June in lieu of a big presentation.
Remembering E3's biggest announcementsThe company hasn't clarified its exact plans as there is "lots to juggle" at the moment, but Devolver does intend to do a Nintendo Direct-style livestream or press conference of some kind in the absence of E3. Devolver also notes that "possibly more" could be coming from the company but nothing is set in stone right now.

Now Playing: E3 2020 Is Officially Canceled - GS News Update
Whatever is coming this June will probably be digital as the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the organization responsible for the annual trade show, said E3 2020 may continue as an "online experience."
The week of E3 has always been a big part of what we do and are genuinely bummed about the cancelation of the event itself.
Lots to juggle but right now we plan on having a livestream Devolver Direct / press conference and possibly more. pic.twitter.com/nGDAEsIzUs

Alongside Devolverl's potential digital E3 2020 plans, a slew of companies have confirmed that they are looking at other avenues as well. Xbox boss Phill Spencer said the company will hold an "Xbox digital event," Limited Run Games will still move forward with its previously-announced E3 2020 press conference, and Ubisoft announced it's exploring "other options" to get its news directly to fans. Here's how other companies are responding to the news of E3 2020's cancellation.
E3 will be back next year, and the ESA said it will be "a reimagined event that brings fans, media, and the industry together" when it returns in June 2021.
