Capcom has denied rumors that it plans to exit the arcade business, saying that there are no current plans to halt arcade production altogether. In fact, Capcom plans to release at least one new arcade title in the upcoming fiscal quarter. However, the company's spokesperson acknowledged that due to poorer-than-expected sales in the arcade business, it is planning to divert some of its financial resources from the arcade sector to the home market.
Capcom has already pledged cross-platform support for all upcoming console and handheld platforms. The company plans to release games on the PlayStation 2, the Xbox, the GameCube, the Dreamcast, and the Game Boy Advance.
