Following today’s E3 press conference, Microsoft Australia has announced local price and release information for its upcoming home console.
The Xbox One console will launch in Australia this November for A$599.
The company also revealed plans to do away with its long-running, proprietary Microsoft points system, confirming earlier rumours. While current Xbox Live memberships will transfer across to the new device, all future transactions will be made in region-specific, real-world currency.
Microsoft also took the wraps off plans to begin offering Xbox Live Gold subscribers two free games each month, the first two of which will be Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed II.
Microsoft also confirmed several games exclusive to the Xbox One, including Dead Rising 3, Insomniac Games' Sunset Overdrive, a Killer Instinct sequel, and Swery65-developed episodic murder mystery D4.
