Wild Hearts New Content Update Introduces Deathhaze Gloombeak, Serial Hunts Quests And More-October 2024
Oct 27, 2024 2:23 PM

A new content update is now available for Wild Hearts, the hunting game released earlier this year on PC and current-generation consoles, introducing a new Kemono to hunt, a new quest type, and plenty of balance tweaks.

The new update, which went live a few hours ago on all formats, introduces a new Deeply Volatile Kemono, Deathhaze Gloombeak. The monster appears in Akikure Canyon, and hunters will have to take it down before their toxins propagate throughout the valley. As rewards for defeating the new Kemono, hunters will receive the Deathhaze Exorciser title and a new talisman with the Toxic Shock skill, which increases the damage Kemono receive after being poisoned.

The new Wild Hearts update also introduces a new type of quest called Serial Hunts. These quests challenge players with defeating gauntlets of Kemono before time runs out. These quests are made more challenging by the fact that it is not possible to draw from healing water wells. Taking down all targets will also reward hunters with new Chat Stamps and Emotes.

A couple of Wild Hearts updates went live earlier this month, introducing balance changes for the Claw Blade weapons as well as other balance changes and improvements, such as a new camera distance option that allows players to adjust the distance of the camera in combat, the ability to dismantle all Karakuri on any given location straight from the DetailedMap, the ability to use voice chat during loading screens and more. You can find the full list of changes introduces by the latest big update on the game's official website.

Wild Hearts is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. You can learn more about this surprisingly solid hunting game by checking out my review.

Wild Hearts couldn't have been a better start for a new IP. While the experience shares more than a few similarities with that of the Monster Hunter series, the unique monster design, the great weapon variety and the Karakuri crafting mechanics give the game a unique flavor that makes it stand out easily among similar games. Performance issues, sadly, impact the experience considerably on all formats, preventing it from reaching greater heights, but even in its current state, the game is a more than worthy purchase for fans of the genre.
