Fallout TV Show Gets Stunning First Teaser Trailer; Fallout 76’s Boardwalk Paradise Shown in Gameplay-September 2024

The hype mode of Amazon Prime Video's upcoming Fallout TV show has officially started. Following the first official photos shared earlier this week, Amazon has now released the debut teaser trailer for the upcoming series.

As far as these videos go, this is a fairly meaty one. We see protagonist Lucy (Ella Purnell from Kick-Ass 2, Maleficent, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, Army of the Dead, Yellowjackets, and Arcane) choosing to leave the safe but strict confines of Vault 33 to venture into the unknown of post-apocalyptic Los Angeles with that step-out moment Fallout fans already know and love.

The first character she encounters is a lone old man named Wilzig, played by none other than Michael Emerson (Lost, Person of Interest). Wilzig warns Lucy that Vault Dwellers don't fare too greatly on the surface and that if she insists on staying, adaptation to the harsh wasteland will be necessary.

Then, it's a medley of Brotherhood of Steel shots, carnage scenes in an unspecified Vault, and Lucy entering a town before we're treated to the first closeup of Walton Goggins' character called The Ghoul.

Before the end of the trailer, we get a glimpse of Kyle MacLachlan of Twin Peaks and Dune fame, who plays Overseer Hank; a dog, apparently named CX404 for some reason; a mutated bear tossing around a character in Power Armor like it was a toy; and again Walton Goggins for the closing shot, though this takes place just as the bombs hit Los Angeles, leaving him permanently mutated as a ghoul.

Announced in July 2020, the Fallout TV show will air on April 12, 2024. It was developed by husband-wife duo Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher Nolan) and Lisa Joy, mostly known for the Westworld series, while Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner will serve as showrunners.

In other Fallout news, Bethesda has released the first gameplay trailer for Boardwalk Paradise, the first half of the Fallout 76 Atlantic City update that's going to add the eponymous casino city to the game as the second Expedition (after The Pitt). The update goes live in the game on Tuesday, December 5, which is also when players can look forward to the start of Season 15.
