Nintendo is pretty cluey when it comes to bundling hardware with software. By bundling Wii Play alongside an essential accessory like the Wiimote, it has ensured that rarely a week goes by that the Wii Play bundle hasn't appeared in the overall top 10 game charts down under. Well it looks like the company has hit the nail on the head again, this time with the Wii Sports Resort bundle, which managed to sell over 110,000 units in less than four weeks, according to industry trackers GfK Australia.
Nintendo bundled Wii Sports Resort with its Wii MotionPlus accessory, which increases the sensitivity of the Wiimote, for A$99.95. You can buy the Wii MotionPlus separately, for A$34.95 if you need them for your extra controllers.
Wii Sports Resort expands upon the original Wii Sports (which came bundled with the console), by adding in 12 new mini-games ranging from archery to wakeboarding. On the whole it was received fairly well by the critics, but was criticised for its lack of single-player appeal. GameSpot's review of Wii Sports Resort can be found here.
