Where Is Xur Today? (Nov. 19-23) - Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotics Guide-November 2024
Nov 6, 2024 10:35 PM

Friday has dawned, and like clockwork, the solar system's favorite Exotic arms dealer has returned to Destiny 2 to offer a new selection of gear for Guardians. Here's where you can find him and what he's carrying this week.

Head to the Tower, to the Hangar area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Fighting Lion. Hunters can pick up the Young Ahamkara's Spine gauntlet; for Titans, there's the Ursa Furiosa gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Aeon Soul gauntlets.

Your eyes should go straight to the Aeon Soul that Xur is offering, which sports an unusually high stat roll of 67. Bungie recently tweaked the Aeon set of Exotics to be more rewarding and offer better synergy with Fireteam members, so while these gauntlets aren't burning up the player use charts, this is potentially a great addition to the right loadout.

Apart from his Exotics this week, Xur brings a series of Legendary weapons from the Season of Arrivals, a few of which are worth grabbing. Xur's Lonesome sidearm comes with Swashbuckler and Rapid Hit for fast firing and damage boosts, plus a Range Masterwork, and sidearms generally are about to get a boost with the release of Bungie's 30th Anniversary celebration content on December 7. Apart from that, if you're in need of a Crucible shotgun, Wishbringer isn't a bad choice, and this one rolls with Hip-Fire Grip and Snapshot Sights to give you versatility in all situations, with a Range Masterwork. This is not a be-all, end-all Crucible shotgun by any stretch, but if you're in need of a reliable secondary, this is a good option to hold that place until you find something better.

Xur's Legendary armor offering this week is the Vanguard set from the Season of the Worthy. Titans fare the best here, and can grab a few pieces of The Shelter In Place set--nothing Xur is offering is below 60 and several pieces are at 62, making them great for filling loadout gaps. Meanwhile, Warlocks can get a high-Intellect pair of gauntlets from the Xenos Vale IV set, and Hunters can get some workhorse options around 60-61 from The Took Offense set.

Xur Location

Look for Xur in the Hangar section of the Tower, at the north end on a catwalk.Xur is back in the Tower this weekend--look for him in the Hangar area, to the left of the transmat zone when you spawn into the Tower Courtyard. At the bottom of the stairs as you enter the Hangar, turn left and head to the edge of the area. Climb a flight of stairs onto a catwalk to find Xur.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic Items

Xur's got Fighting Lion this week, a breech-loading grenade launcher you should mess around with if you haven't in a while. The launcher is a Primary weapon, which means it enjoys infinite ammo as part of Bungie's recent ammo economy tweaks. Apart from that, its bouncy grenades allow you to create a lot of fun havoc, especially in the Crucible. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

That means it's worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Fighting Lion (Grenade Launcher)

Fighting Lion's bouncy grenades make it great for nailing opponents around corners.Breech-loading grenade launchers have a bit of a learning curve, but spending some time getting the hang of Fighting Lion is definitely worth it. The launcher's grenades bounce around corners and can be remotely detonated by releasing the trigger, so you can put grenades into places opponents don't expect--especially in the Crucible. Since Fighting Lion is a primary weapon, it now enjoys infinite ammo, but the real trick is in taking advantage of its Thin the Herd perk to speed up your reloads. Its grenades deal extra damage to enemy shields on direct hits, and the launcher gets a reload speed buff if you manage to damage multiple enemies with it at once. If you're killing enemies you've damage with grenades, the launcher's magazine is refilled--so fire it into groups, try to land direct hits, and kill damaged enemies to keep the launcher spitting explosives.

Young Ahamkara's Spine (Hunter)

Your Tripmine grenades get a serious lethality boost with Young Ahamkara's Spine. If you're a fan of Tripmines, Young Ahamkara's Spine is an Exotic of note. The gauntlets boost your Tripmine blast radius, making them more lethal, and extends their duration, so they last longer when you throw them on a wall to set a trap for opponents. You also get ability energy back when you damage enemies with your Tripmines, allowing you to throw them more frequently. This isn't a particularly great roll on the Exotic, though, so only snag this one if you need it for your Collection.

Ursa Furiosa (Titan)

The boost to your Banner Shield Super with Ursa Furiosa makes it great for tough PvE events. For Titans, Ursa Furiosa remains a go-to Exotic for high-level PvE events like Grandmaster Nightfalls. The Exotic boosts your Sentinel Shield Super, allowing you to move faster while guarding with the it. The more damage your Super absorbs, the more Super energy you get back when it ends, up to 50%. Plus, guarded damage produces Orbs of Power, allowing your fireteam to enjoy the protection while also charging their Supers as quickly as possible.

Aeon Soul (Warlock)

Aeon Soul is the standout of Xur's collection this week, thanks to its high stat roll. The gauntlets give benefits for you and your fireteam, encouraging you to fight together. The gauntlets offer you three different choices on its benefits--either increased reload and swap speed for landing precision hits, the chance to generate Orbs of Power for precision kills, or Rift energy awarded when your allies are killed. You also give extra benefits to your fireteam members, with additional bonuses for everyone if your team wears Aeon Exotics, each with a different buff set. Synergize for best results.
