Where Is Xur Today? (Aug. 6-10) - Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotics Guide-January 2024
Jan 12, 2025 4:47 AM

Update: Xur has departed the solar system for the weekend of Aug. 6. Here's where you can find Xur and what Exotics he's offering for the weekend of Aug. 13-17.

The Season of the Splicer is slowly winding down in Destiny 2, with the season's final Iron Banner event stretching through this weekend. That makes this another opportune time to visit Xur while he's back in the solar system, bringing new Exotic weapons and armor to give you an edge.

Head to Nessus, to the Watcher's Grave area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Skyburner's Oath. Hunters can pick up the Ophidia Spathe chest armor; for Titans, there's the Severance Enclosure chest armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Eye of Another World helmet.

Xur Location

To get to Xur, start at the transmat location in the Watcher's Grave area. Hop on your Sparrow and head north, past Caiatl's land tank, to the north end of the area. There, you'll see a big tree with pink moss growing on it. Climb up onto the branch reaching south over the area to find Xur standing on it.

Head north from the transmat location in Watcher's Grave to find a big pink tree near the exit from the area. Climb it to find Xur hanging out on one of the branches.Xur returns to the solar system every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. The thing is, where he'll land isn't known until he actually arrives. Xur can hang out at one of several locations, including in the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ. Xur's inventory also changes each week, so it's worth revisiting him on the weekends for new weapons and rolls on Exotic armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Xur Exotic Items

Skyburner's Oath is the weapon Xur is offering this weekend, which is a solid Exotic for some specific use cases: namely, whenever you need to wreck a bunch of Cabal enemies. The scout rifle does bonus damage to Cabal and has some useful perks that make it especially handy in tough activities, like Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Each week, Xur offers one Exotic weapon and three pieces of Exotic armor: one for each character class. The inventory is random, as are the stat rolls you can expect on each of his armor offerings, so if you're looking to fill out your collection or if you're hoping for better versions of Exotics you already have, it's worth visiting him. Xur also brings an Exotic Engram, which is guaranteed to drop something you don't already have, if there are Exotics missing from your collection on that particular character--but that doesn't include Exotics you have to earn through activities, including the new Exotic armors added each season, which can only be claimed from Legendary or Master Lost Sectors.

Skyburner's Oath (Scout Rifle)

Rip through Cabal enemies with Skyburner's Oath, especially in tough activities such as Nightfall Strikes. You'll get the most mileage out of Skyburner's Oath when you bring it to bear against Cabal enemies. The full-auto scout rifle does bonus damage to all Cabal, and it ignores Phalanx enemies' shields, making it great for smashing lots of Cabal enemies quickly. The gun is also pretty handy in PvE situations--fire it from the hip, and it lobs seeking, explosive projectiles that allow you to shoot and hit targets from relative safety. If you want more precision, you can aim down the sights for a straighter, faster shot with higher damage.

Ophidia Spathe (Hunter)

You should be throwing more knives, and with Ophidia Spathe, you can. It's simple: Ophidia Spathe gives you more throwing knives for your Hunter's Gunslinger class. For melee-centric builds, that can be pretty great--Gunslingers can get a lot done with throwing knives, using them for one-hit headshots against Guardians or kicking off the Playing With Fire buff to speed up your ability recovery. If you like having lots of knives at your disposal, this is a decent Exotic for your collection, although Xur's stat roll on this version is a pretty mediocre one.

Severance Enclosure (Titan)

Titans with melee builds get a little more bang for their buck with Severance Enclosure, which makes enemies explode when you punch them.Whenever you nail an enemy with a powered melee attack while wearing Severance Enclosure, they'll explode, making it great for wading into groups of baddies and punching your way clear. The Exotic increases the range of the explosion when you land powered melee final blows against tougher enemies or complete Finishers, further incentivizing you to get in close on your opponents.

Eye Of Another World (Warlock)

Your abilities recharge faster when you're wearing Eye of Another World, and with the helmet marking your high-priority targets, you'll know exactly where to throw your grenades.Eye of Another World identifies priority enemies, making it easier to identify the opponents you'll want to focus on and take out quickly. To do that, you get some additional benefits from the helmet: It gooses your ability recharge rates, giving you grenades, melee attacks, and Rifts even faster. That makes this a solid all-around Exotic if you don't have something more specific you need for a given build.
