It's not set to hit retail shelves until 1999, but developer Legend Entertainment and publisher GT Interactive are excited enough about the game The Wheel of Time, based on author Robert Jordan's series of fantasy novels, to unveil their work-in-progress as part of an "exclusive 'closed door' preview" at E3, coming up at the end of this month in Atlanta.
The game will use the Unreal game engine. The game is being designed as a first-person 3D action/strategy game that includes some role-playing elements. Players will be able to take control of one of four characters, controlling their own fortresses and venturing out from them to collect magical artifacts and to storm enemy citadels in search of mystical seals while protecting their own home bases from invasion, according to GT Interactive.
