Westworld Season 3's Mysterious First Poster Revealed
Westworld Season 3's Mysterious First Poster Revealed-September 2024
Sep 20, 2024 3:33 PM

The sci-fi mystery Westworld has been one of HBO's highest-profile shows of the last few years. After a few delays, Season 1 premiered in 2017 to much acclaim, while the even-more enigmatic Season 2 arrived in 2018. Season 3 premieres next month, and now the first poster has been released.

As confirmed during the Super Bowl last month, Westworld Season 3 will premiere on Sunday, March 15 at 9 PM PT/ET. As for the poster, it's suitably mysterious. It shows a robotic figure on its knees in the sand in front of a massive futuristic city. The tagline reads "Free will is not free." Check it out below:

The new season will see the return of most of the main cast members from the previous seasons, including Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Jeffrey Wright as Arnold/Bernard, and Tessa Thompson as Charlotte. The first trailer was released back in July, and revealed that Ed Harris will also make an appearance as the Man in Black/William. And of course, this being Westworld, a few surprise appearances are to be expected too--Anthony Hopkins in Season 2 being an obvious example of a character return no one thought would happen.

There are also some new additions to the Westworld cast. Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul will appear as a construction worker named Caleb, who the actor previously described as having a "complicated past." Other new cast members include French icon Vincent Cassel and rapper/actor Kid Cudi.

Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are notoriously tight-lipped about what to expect from the show, and have been known to troll fans trying to find out Westworld's secrets. However, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan described this season a "radical shift" from the other two, most notably in the way that some of the season will be set outside the theme park of title.
