The VFX team Corridor Crew has used its effects wizardry to correct what it perceives to be one of cinematic history's biggest missteps: Warner Bros. Pictures' digitally removing Henry Cavill's mustache in the Joss Whedon version of Justice League. The crew has uploaded a 15-minute video walking viewers through its rationale in devoting time to create a proof of concept clip with Cavill's mustache added back in, the cutting edge technology (really) involved, and then finally treating fans to the big reveal.

　　A major throughline in the video is a flag-planting plea for Warner Bros. to release the "mustache cut" of the film, declaring that seemingly minor change as enough to put it on par with or become the definitive version over the recently released four-hour Zack Snyder version. Hey, anything is possible, right? Check out the clip below and decide for yourself.

　　With the recent rise of potentially troubling deepfakes--an emerging form of media in which an existing image or video is replaced with someone else's likenesses--this video is a nice change of pace with a silly use of some of that technology. Around the 12-minute mark, there are some pretty wild technical hiccups, like Superman's mustache being punched clean off his face.

　　As Justice League and Henry Cavill's Superman are both receding somewhat into the rear view, DC is making it clear that it's moving on from the DC Extended Universe of Zack Snyder's films. It was recently announced that Superman will be rebooted with Ta-Nehisi Coates writing and JJ Abrams developing--but still unclear who will take the role over from Cavill, mustache or not. Actor Michael B. Jordan has recently said that, despite rumors, he's "just watching on this one."
