Watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens New TV Spots and See John Williams Conduct the Score-October 2024
Oct 26, 2024 10:28 AM

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is nearly upon us. 60 Minutes have broadcast a special feature on the movie that reveals some new behind-the-scenes work on the film, including legendary composer John Williams conducting his score for the movie--check it out below:

The full feature can be watched here. Among the people interviewed is Steven Spielberg, who reveals that director JJ Abrams is "terrified" about how the film might turn out. "There's a lot of pressure on to start paying Disney back for, you know, the franchise they bought from from George Lucas," he says.

Abrams himself speaks about how The Force Awakens followed on from 1983's Return of the Jedi, which 30 years ago seemed to have a happy, tidy resolution. "The walk off to the sunset is--is always--a misleading thing, because, 'Well, then what?'," he explains. "And so one of the things that I think you see in this movie is that things didn't just end happily, and that the idea of the Force, both the dark and the light side, are at a classic Star Wars place, which is in a desperate moment."

There have also been a final flurry of TV spots released in past few days, all of them highlighting the fact that the film is released very soon. Watch them below:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18, 2015. It stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill.
