The new Final Fantasy XV trailer featured a killer rendition of Ben E. King's iconic song "Stand By Me" performed by Florence and the Machine singer Florence Welch. If you haven't seen it, go watch it here. Now, Square Enix has released a behind-the-scenes video in which Welch talks about how she got involved with the company and why she loves Final Fantasy so much. Check it out:
"'Stand By Me' is one of the greatest songs probably of all time so I was really glad that the game had chosen this song to do," she said in an update on Facebook. "We really wanted to make it our own, bringing it into the world of Florence + The Machine and the world of Final Fantasy XV."
Welch went on to explain why she was attracted to this project.
"I've always seen Final Fantasy as a beautiful and creative game so I don't think I could have worked with another video game," she explained. "In some ways the landscape of Final Fantasy and my own internal landscape seemed to fit quite well; it's mythical and beautiful and epic."
