Watch Award Winning Composer Inon Zur Play the Fallout 4 Theme-September 2024
Sep 21, 2024 2:27 AM

Bethesda Softworks has just released a new video showcasing the Multi-award-winning composer Inon Zur as he brings his unique sounds and inimitable style to the Fallout 4 score. You can watch Inon Zur play the Fallout 4 theme below:

Fallout 4 – Behind the Score with Inon Zur

Inon Zur explains about his process:

“I walk in my garden and basically hammer on things,”

“I cruelly exploit the piano by hitting the strings with open hands and even biting the strings,”

“I have a very nice grand piano at home, and I recorded myself playing the main theme,” Zur says. Todd’s first reaction was mixed: He liked the idea of the piano, but he found the actual sound to be too bright, bordering on harsh. Todd and Mark wanted something warmer. “So I created a combination between a real piano and an electric piano sound,” Zur says. “A sound that is really round and not bright at all but very lush.” When Zur played this for Todd and Mark, both of them immediately knew this was what they wanted. “So following that lead on, there are multiple times that I use this,” Zur says. “You also hear it first in the main theme. This is not a mistake or just a random choice. The piano will stay with us throughout the whole score.”

“We know what this game means to everyone,” said Game Director, Todd Howard. “The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever. We’ve never been more excited about a game, and we can’t wait to share it.”

In an interview with Game Informer, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard, explains that Skyrim's popularity and the sheer volume of player data in the game created challenges to troubleshooting bugs in the open world. Howard also talked with DigitalSpy about the size of Fallout 4 to and loading screens for the new title, more of which can be found here.

Fallout 4 will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 10, 2015. We will bring you any new information as soon as it becomes available.
