The Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader Mobile Extractium is perhaps one of the most important items in the game. As the name implies, it's used to collect various resources, which can then be used to complete projects and contracts. However, you'll only find a few of these devices early on, which means you shouldn't waste them. Our guide discusses how to get more Mobile Extractiums in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader.

You can get additional Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader Mobile Extractium items by purchasing a limited amount from vendors or by completing certain projects in your colonies. There are also a few planetary events and decisions that reward you with this item.
A limited number of Mobile Extractiums can be purchased from Opticon-22, the vendor of the Explorators/Adeptus Mechanicus faction. The resource is available right from the get-go. However, you do need to have at least 35 Profit Factor. You can learn more about Profit Factor and other vendors in our trading and faction reputations guide.

Most Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader Mobile Extractium items, at least a few hours into the campaign, come from a couple of colony projects. You should be able to see and complete these as early as Act 2. If you're unable to do that, don't fret, since you can still obtain them later in the game.

How and where to use Mobile Extractiums
As cited earlier, it's important that you don't waste Mobile Extractiums in the early-game. We know that there are several star systems with resources on planets. However, it's better to save the device for planets that actually have plenty of resources. For instance, you might find a world with +2 Adamantium, which isn't necessary. Instead, you should wait until you discover a planet that may have +10 to +12 Adamantium.
Once you've located some of these bountiful worlds, simply click on the resource icon on the planet, then accept the use of the device. This will automatically add that resource to your total pool. You'll then be able to use it to complete various colony projects or contracts.
