Space Marine received its first piece of downloadable content last week in the free Exterminatus pack, which introduced a wave-based co-op mode. THQ today announced plans to build upon the new mode with the game's first paid DLC pack next month.

　　Chaos will be unleashed in December. The Chaos Unleashed content pack will include a new Exterminatus mode bearing the DLC's name that puts players in the role of a Chaos Space Marine in battles against the Ork and Imperial Guard alike. Three new multiplayer maps that support all modes of play and several new co-op enemy types will also be included. The pack is set for a December release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC for $9.99 (800 Microsoft points).

　　Space Marine casts players as Captain Titus of the Ultramarine chapter of the iconic Warhammer 40,000 fighting force, one of humanity's last hopes in an intergalactic war against the sinister Orks. Players are charged with defending an Imperial Forge World from the Orkish invasion, a task made more complicated when the forces of Chaos make their presence known.
