Warframe, the free-to-play game by Digital Extremes, will celebrate its 5th birthday next week, and Digital Extremes will launch a new microsite tomorrow to mark the occasion.
The new microsite will encourage players to celebrate all things Warframe, like sharing stories, watch trailers and get some in-game goodies.
Digital Extremes also shared some interesting stats. Since the beginning, players have crafted 52,972,344 Warframes and 234,766,197 weapons, have assassinated Captain Vor, the game’s first boss, 53,117,969 times, and been part of 41,765,109 Stalker eliminations. And they have accumulated a total of 136,747 years, 49,912,765 days, 1,197,906,351 hours playing Warframe. Impressive stats, even for a game that's among the top 10 most played games on Steam.
In case you have never played Warframe, you can download it on Steam. The game is also available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
They were called Tenno. Warriors of blade and gun: masters of the Warframe armor. Those that survived the old war were left drifting among the ruins. Now they are needed once more.
The Grineer, with their vast armies, are spreading throughout the solar system. A call echoes across the stars summoning the Tenno to an ancient place. They summon you.
Allow the Lotus to guide you. She has rescued you from your cryostasis chamber and given you a chance to survive. The Grineer will find you; you must be prepared. The Lotus will teach you the ways of the Warframes and the secrets to unlocking their powers.
Come Tenno, you must join the war.
