Warcraft II owners have been waiting far too long for Battle.net support and when Blizzard announced the development of Warcraft II Platinum, it appeared that wait would be over. With all the buzz over Starcraft and the highly-anticipated release of Diablo II, Platinum appears to have been left by the way side.
Luckily, Blizzard has updated its site with more information about the now renamed, Warcraft II Battle.net Edition. Gamers will still have to wait until this summer to play but the end is almost near. What has been taking the development crew so long? Well, with a list of features including multiplayer support for the older DOS version, over 100 new maps, the option to allow eight players to compete over Battle.net from a single CD-ROM, and a long list of other enhancements will make Warcraft II gameplay better than ever.
And the best information yet is that the upgrade will only be priced at US$20.
