Last week 3dfx announced it had plans to demonstrate its upcoming Voodoo5 video card and VSA-100 chipset at a number of industry tradeshows, including the Intel Developer Forum in Palm Springs, California. But those who converged on the California desert this weekend didn't find any sign of 3dfx's new video card.
According to a press release issued by the company this morning, the reason for the video-card's absence from the show floor was a "miscommunication between Intel and 3dfx." The press release goes on to say that, "In fairness to the other presenters on the panel, Intel asked 3dfx to forgo the demonstration. While 3dfx was fully prepared to do the demonstration, did honor this request from Intel."
3dfx is still planning on demonstrating the Voodoo5 at CeBit, which will be held in Germany later on this week, and at the Game Developers Conference, held from March 9-12 in San Jose, Calif.
