Voodoo4/5 Jumps to the Mac
Voodoo4/5 Jumps to the Mac-September 2024
Sep 23, 2024 12:23 AM

At the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, Calif., this morning, 3dfx Interactive officially announced its plans to manufacture its VSA-100 graphics chipset for the Macintosh platform. Unveiled at Comdex late last year, the VSA-100 chipset is the heart behind the company's upcoming Voodoo4 and Voodoo5 video cards.

"This announcement demonstrates our strong commitment to the Mac platform and our desire to be the number one graphics supplier for the Mac," said 3dfx cofounder and CEO Scott Sellers. "No other graphics board can deliver the power and performance of the VSA-100 to the Mac."

Although no details were given at the show, 3dfx stated that it would announce board specifications within a few weeks, and it would make those boards available by the first half of 2000. We'll keep you Mac users posted.
