Vivendi Universal Publishing, the company that owns Blizzard Entertainment, The Flipside Network, Sierra, and Universal Interactive, has announced a North American distribution agreement with Interplay Entertainment that grants it the exclusive rights to distribute Interplay's PC and console games through the year 2003. Interplay's upcoming role-playing game Neverwinter Nights is not included in the agreement.
The first games to be released under the agreement will include Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Giants: Citizen Kabuto, both coming this fall for the Sony PlayStation 2. More Interplay games to be released under the agreement will be announced at a later date.
