One of the hottest entertainment properties coming out this year is Spider-Man 3 from Sony Pictures. The film will get the usual marketing blitz and promotional tie-ins, with Spider-Man-branded lunchboxes, fast-food meal deals, and action figures almost certainly already in the works.
The movie will also have the required game tie-in, which is being handled by Activision internal studio Treyarch, developers of Call of Duty 3. The game is tackling just about every platform, including the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2. DS, PlayStation Portable, and Game Boy Advance.
Just after debuting some gameplay for the press, Treyarch executive producer Chris Archer spoke with GameSpot News at the Spider-Man 3 premiere event in San Francisco. In this video located in the GameSpot News Blog, Archer talks about developing for a fanatical audience, a high-powered license, and some of the new features in the game.
