The comparison must be made - the Dreamcast boasts above-Model 3 specifications, and fans of Virtua Fighter expect nothing less than a perfect translation of VF3tb's gameplay to the Dreamcast. So what does it look like? Well, Softbank's Sega Saturn magazine did a side-by-side comparison of the two, by using two nearly identical screenshots from the arcade and Dreamcast versions of the game.
So is the Dreamcast version up to the arcade? It's hard to tell without seeing them side-by-side in motion, but it looks as if the Dreamcast version is actually a little softer, with textures that are more rounded rather than looking flat-out polygonal. It's going to be close, but VF3tb on the Dreamcast looks more like an adaptation of the game, built from scratch, rather than an out-and-out "port," for lack of a better term.
