Untitled Goose Game Getting Free Co-Op Multiplayer Update Next Month-November 2024
Nov 16, 2024 2:42 PM

Nintendo showcased a variety of new and upcoming indie games during this week's Indie World broadcast, but it capped off the presentation with some new details about one of last year's biggest indie hits. Untitled Goose Game is getting a two-player co-op multiplayer mode, and it's coming to all platforms as part of a free update next month.

The update is scheduled to arrive on September 23, and it adds the ability to play the popular mischief simulator alongside another player. You and a friend will both take control of your own horrible goose and terrorize the unsuspecting townspeople together. The entire game will be playable in co-op, and you can even drag each other around in a box for sneaky shenanigans.

Untitled Goose Game first released on Switch and PC back in September 2019 and was an immediate success, spawning countless memes and winning developer House House numerous awards. GameSpot we gave it an 8/10 and selected it as one of the best Switch games of the year.

"The important thing is that Untitled Goose Game is a hoot," we wrote in our Untitled Goose Game review. "It's a comedy game that focuses on making the act of playing it funny, rather than simply being a game that features jokes. Wishing that it was longer speaks to how much fun I had with it. There's nothing else quite like Untitled Goose Game; it's charming and cute despite being mean, and both very silly and very clever."

Untitled Goose Game is also available on Xbox One and PS4. The game is getting a physical Lovely Edition on Switch and PS4 next month. It will come in eco-friendly packaging and include goodies like a village map and a Plaza Catalogue.
