Ubisoft has announced US$23 million in consolidates sales for the first quarter of the current fiscal year. This represents a 31 percent increase over the same period in the previous fiscal year. Additionally, Ubisoft said that it expects a 25 percent increase in sales for the current fiscal year.
The company attributed the increase in sales in the first quarter to the successful release of games such as Disney's Dinosaur for the Game Boy Color, Dukes of Hazzard: Racing for Home for the Sony PlayStation, and EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark for the PC.
Ubisoft also confirmed the acquisition of Milan-based distribution company 3D Planet. The move is geared toward strengthening its European distribution channels.
