TV Series Based on Classic PC Game Myst Heads to Hulu-October 2024
Oct 24, 2024 8:20 AM

Should the project pan out, the TV series based on classic PC adventure game Myst will air on Hulu.

This is according to Deadline, which reports that there were multiple bidders for the series. Hulu--in the midst of a push for more original content--came out on top, but this still doesn't guarantee the series will make it to air. The report notes that Myst has a script-to-series commitment, meaning that, if the script is approved, it will go directly to series (as opposed to a pilot episode being made).

The adaptation of Myst was first announced last year when developer Cyan Worlds and Legendary Entertainment agreed to a deal. At the time, no details were forthcoming regarding what the series would be about.

Now, Deadline says it'll feature a story written by Evan Daugherty (Divergent, 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) that "will explore the origins of the island of Myst from the game where a man wakes up on a mystery island with absolutely no idea who he is, where is, or how he got there." Daugherty is also set to write the screenplay for a new Tomb Raider film.

GameSpot has reached out to Cyan to find out more and will report back with anything we learn.
