Total War developer Creative Assembly will soon be making games based on the fantasy Warhammer universe, publisher Sega has announced. The first unnamed Warhammer title in the deal is scheduled to launch "from beyond 2013."
The deal signed with Warhammer creator Games Workshop is described as "multi-title," suggesting that more than one game may be in the works. According to Eurogamer, the deal does not include the Warhammer 40,000 license, which still belongs to publisher THQ.
New developer Creative Assembly is currently working on Total War: Rome 2 and an as-yet-unannounced game based on the Alien universe.
The last Warhammer title released was this year's Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes, a multiplayer online battle arena game from EA.
