Today Only: Cheap Nintendo Switch Controllers For $20 Each, Great For Multiplayer-October 2024
Oct 27, 2024 8:34 AM

Grabbing an extra set of Joy-Con or a Pro controller for multiplayer on Switch isn't cheap. Joy-Con typically cost $80 for a pair, while the Pro controller goes for $70. That adds up quickly, especially if you want to have three or four controllers. If you're simply looking for an extra controller or two to have on hand for the occasional multiplayer session (or when your Pro controller is charging), GameStop's current Deal of the Day features a solid wireless gamepad for a great price. Pre-owned PowerA Enhanced wireless controllers are discounted to $20 until the end of the day (April 22), which is $15 off its regular price.

PowerA's Enhanced wireless controller is one of the best budget controllers for Switch. During our tests, we found them to be quite similar to the Pro controller--though they are a bit lighter. In addition to mirroring the Pro controller's layout and ergonomics, they also have two programmable triggers on the back panel that can be mapped on the fly to fit your needs. Though the controller uses AA batteries for power, you can get about 30 hours of playtime before having to swap in new ones. Unfortunately, if you're looking for NFC support for Amiibo or rumble, PowerA's controllers lack both features.

While PowerA has a bunch of cool themed controllers celebrating Super Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and more Nintendo franchises, GameStop's Deal of the Day only includes the black controller with a red back panel. However, you can snag the hard-to-find (and adorable) Animal Crossing-themed PowerA controllers directly from the manufacturer right now.
