Tuesday THQ announced that it had secured the rights to publish Sony Computer Entertainment's Xi (that's "Sai") for the PlayStation in the US. The game will be retitled Devil Dice for the American market and is set for a September 1998 release.
Xi was showcased at the Spring Tokyo Game Show this past March. It's basically a puzzle game where you line up sides of dice to match. Put together three or more sides with the same numerical value on the side facing up, and they'll disappear. You star as a little devil who jumps around the dice and turns them over so that they'll match up (hence the name, Devil Dice).
Devil Dice includes tutorial, trial, battle, puzzle, and war modes, giving the game a good amount of replay value. In war mode, you and four other people can battle it out in a race against time. Puzzle mode has over 100 different puzzles.
The Japanese version of the game will be released on June 18.
