There are all sorts of Halo 5 collectibles to pick up this fall, be it collector's editions of the game, the themed console, or limited-edition controllers. But there's one special item that's recently come to light that you can't buy just anywhere, and it's not because you failed to preorder it.

Those who purchase Halo 5 on at least some US military bases received a collectible coin along with it, according to an image (above) shared on Reddit by user itisjabob. One side features Master Chief and Spartan Locke staring at one another, while the opposite side features the game's name, an image of a Guardian, and the branches of the US military: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard.
Other Reddit users have since corroborated this, with user TaylorHouse pointing out that this has happened in the past with other games, including The Elder Scrolls Online. User Echopractic suggests the significance of these collectibles is likely a reference to challenge coins.
Halo 5 debuted last Tuesday, October 27. For more, check out GameSpot's review.
