The Witcher 3 is finally releasing on Nintendo Switch tomorrow, and those getting the game for the console will be getting an extremely solid port in terms of performance.
A recent frame test video shared by Pixelacos Gameplays shows how The Witcher 3 runs incredibly smooth on Nintendo Switch. While the test only shows areas in White Orchard, it's clear how the game manages to keep a solid 30 FPS while traveling around most areas. Performance takes a hit in the most demanding areas, like the marshes near the Nilfgaardian base, but it's still in line with what we have seen in the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
In his preview, Chris noted that The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch, looks and plays great, despite the downgrading over the other versions.
There have been zero compromises in content, with only minor ones on visual fidelity, audio options and slower loading time than I’m used to. There’s little doubt to me that, when released, this will be the best open-world game on the Nintendo Switch and, arguably, the best game in general on the Switch. How nice it will be to the battery, well that’s something I’ll have to figure out when I have the game and I’m constantly playing it whenever I’m on the go. When will that be? There’s no set date, the aim is still for a 2019 release. I, for one, can’t wait.
The Witcher 3 launches on Nintendo Switch tomorrow, October 15th.
