Photo of the casting couch at the first The Summit eventCombining a serious competition with a casual approach is a difficult thing to accomplish, but with Beyond The Summit's first ever LAN event earlier this June, they seemed to have found a winning formula. With several of the world's best and prolific teams such as EG, DK and Na'Vi in attendance, the bar for the second edition of the tournament which was just announced will be a challenge for the independent North American studio.
"The biggest change this time around is that the event will be going on for five days instead of four" said Andrew 'Zyori' Campbell of Beyond The Summit when onGamers reached out to him earlier today. When asked if the additional day is due to The Summit 2 expanding its pool of teams, Campbell stated that the added day is simply due to making the event less stressful than the first iteration of The Summit, and that the amount of teams at the LAN finals will be the same as for the first Summit event.
The Summit 2 will take place between December 3-7.
