The Sims back on top
The Sims back on top-October 2024
Oct 18, 2024 2:21 PM

Unsurprisingly, the latest expansion pack for The Sims moved straight into the top slot in the NPD retail charts. As a matter of fact, in this week's chart, The Sims products took five of the top eight positions, and Electronic Arts increased its share of the top 10 from seven to eight. Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, and Madden NFL 2003 are continuing to perform well, and right now only Vivendi's Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto III stand between Electronic Arts and complete PC best-seller list domination.

Best-selling PC games for the week of September 22-28, 2002:

Rank / Title / Publisher / Average Price

  1 / The Sims: Unleashed / Electronic Arts / $29

  2 / Battlefield 1942 / Electronic Arts / $47

  3 / The Sims Deluxe / Electronic Arts / $40

  4 / Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos / Vivendi Universal / $53

  5 / The Sims: Vacation / Electronic Arts / $29

  6 / Medal of Honor: Allied Assault / Electronic Arts / $46

  7 / The Sims: Hot Date / Electronic Arts / $29

  8 / The Sims / Electronic Arts / $42

  9 / Madden NFL 2003 / Electronic Arts / $38

  10 / Grand Theft Auto III / Rockstar Games / $47
