It's apparently a Wizarding World, and we're all living in it. That's because Hogwart Legacy was the top-trending video game in the US this year, according to Google. The open-world RPG was followed by a New York Times title not called Wordle and a critically acclaimed RPG.
Connections is the aforementioned No. 2 game for Google's top trending data. The third spot sees Baldur's Gate 3, which just so happens to be GameSpot's Game of the Year for 2023. The Dungeons & Dragons RPG beat out an impressive assortment of titles that made up GameSpot's 10 best games of the year, with fellow nominee The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom appearing at No. 6 on the Google trending chart.

Now Playing: Hogwarts Legacy Video Review
Rounding out the top 5, meanwhile, for Google's top-trending games are Starfield and Diablo 4, respectively. The former was the first new franchise from Bethesda Game Studios in decades and became the biggest launch for the developer ever with over 6 million players.
Hogwarts Legacy reportedly dominated game sales for the first quarter of 2023 and is the best-selling game in the US for the year so far, according to Circana. It also recently arrived on Nintendo Switch; however, the Hogwarts Legacy port apparently doesn't feature the same open world as the other versions, with long loading times from place to place. For more on the RPG, check out GameSpot's Hogwarts Legacy review.
