As the McDonald's Grimace milkshake trend online continues to spread, a number of video game companies have gotten in on the action.
The Grimace shake's wrath started spreading to games on June 27, when the official Sonic Twitter account tweeted that Sonic had fallen victim to Grimace. But that was just the start because shortly after, it was revealed that Xbox was no match for Grimace and his McPowers. This then created a trend for other video game companies to join in. Games such as Among Us and Street Fighter 6 were next. What makes matters worse is that Grimace can be spotted in their replies taunting them.
Earlier this month, Grimace turned 52, and to celebrate the blob's birthday, McDonald's released a Grimace game and a limited-edition milkshake. But as of late, the milkshake has taken on a life of its own, with a recent trend that appears to have started on TikTok. All of the videos start the same way, with someone wishing Grimace a happy birthday, and as soon as they drink, the video will cut to them, usually pretending to be dead or on the verge of death. This bled over to Twitter, where game characters and companies join in on the trend:
