During the latest Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase, several games were announced with reveal trailers including the next entry in the long-running strategy-RPG series Disgaea. The Switch-exclusive Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is launching in Summer 2021 and we got a quick look at some gameplay.
Disgaea 6 looks to be getting wild by leaning into its over-the-top approach; damage numbers are getting real big by going into the quadrillions as they said, and levels that go up to 99,999,999.
SRPGs are gonna get a serious punch in the throat with Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, coming summer 2021 to #NintendoSwitch! Can a mere Netherworld zombie rise up and destroy a god? Learn more by visiting the official website: (https://t.co/R71nRDmnNm) #Disgaea6 pic.twitter.com/PlK4xemsgz

The game channels its quirky nature through the new main character named Zed, a zombie boy who has come to life with powers through "super-reincarnation" and gets stronger each time he dies. There are also other chibi-style characters with their own personalities that seem to round out Disgaea 6's irreverent tone.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will also be available for free for a limited time--from Sept 23 to 29--if you're a Switch Online subscriber. For more from the Nintendo Direct Mini, catch up on the announcement of Monster Hunter Rise and the reveal of Monster Hunter Stories 2.
