JJ Abrams is producing a Superman reboot movie for DC. It's been reported by Deadline that Ta-Nehisi Coates will write the film, with Abrams developing it as part of his Bad Robot production company.
There are no plot or casting details available currently, and it's unknown if Henry Cavill will return to the role as Superman. However, Deadline states that Cavill is "eager" to reprise the role he first played in Zack Snyder's 2013 film Man of Steel.

Coates is an exciting choice of writer for the movie. He's known as a journalist and non-fiction writer as well as for his comic books. His work in comics include a number of Black Panther and Captain America series for Marvel, as well as working as a consultant on the Eisner Award-winning World of Wakanda. Coates's non-fiction books include The Beautiful Struggle, Between the World and Me, and We Were Eight Years in Power, which collected his essays about the Obama presidency.
The fact that DC is planning to reboot Superman suggests that it is fully moving on from the DC Extended Universe of Zack Snyder's films. However, we'll see Cavill once more when Snyder's new version of Justice League hits HBO Max next month.
As for Superman on the small screen, the new CW series Superman & Lois premiered this week. Check out what GameSpot thought of the new show here.
