Ahead of the release of Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this month, Rockstar Games today announced that it will release limited edition collections of the game's music on both CD and vinyl. Through a partnership with Mass Appeal Records, the soundtrack collections will go on sale in December.
"The Music of Grand Theft Auto" is the name of the package, and it features 59 tracks from artists such as The Creator, Twin Shadow, and Flying Lotus. This bundle will also include GTA V's original score, as well as "other incredible music featured in" the game.
The CD format version comes with three discs and a GTA V-branded gold brick-shaped USB drive, artwork, and a poster. On vinyl, The Music of Grand Theft Auto will come in a bundle (pictured at left) that includes six records. Also included in the package is a color booklet with an exclusive lithograph poster.
Only 5,000 units of The Music of Grand Theft Auto will be made and released worldwide. They will go on sale starting December 9 at "top online and physical record stores," Rockstar said. Pricing, however, was not announced for either the CD or vinyl bundle.
GTA V comes to Xbox One and PS4 on November 18, while the PC version will arrive in January 2015.
