Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury has arrived on Nintendo Switch, and the game's first update is also now out. This patch appears to be a very minor one, however. According to the patch notes on Nintendo's support website, the version 1.1.0 update "fixed various issues to improve the overall gameplay experience."
In celebration of the game's release, Nintendo has also shared a new launch trailer for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. This video gives viewers a quick look at both components of the package: the original Wii U game, and the new Bowser's Fury mode, a self-contained mini-adventure that has Mario collecting Cat Shines around an open-world level.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury has been well-received by critics. GameSpot scored it a 9/10 in our Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury review and wrote, "Put together, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a spectacular package. Super Mario 3D World is an absolute joy of classic platforming excellence, and this is the best version of it thanks to some well-calibrated improvements. Bowser's Fury is peculiar and less polished, but it dares to poke fun at its own oddities and it has a wild creative streak."
In addition to the game, the new Cat Peach and Cat Mario Amiibo figures are now available. The figures retail for $16 each and give you power-ups when scanned in the game. The special Mario edition Nintendo Switch console is also available. Like the standard Switch, it retails for $300 USD but comes in a red-and-blue design.
